Polly Takt - The Heat Is On

By PolyTakt Team · 27/8/2026

# Polly Takt — The Heat Is On There are songs about factories, night shifts, and machines that will not behave. There are not, so far as we can tell, any other songs about scientific injection moulding. There is certainly not another full album. Until now. Polly Takt’s The Heat Is On is nine tracks long. It follows the same sequence a process should follow on the press: fill speed, cavity balance, pressure drop, pack and hold, gate freeze, gate seal, cooling, the process window, and then holding the line once the process is actually repeatable. Why an album?

The studies already have a rhythm. Anyone who has stood at a press for a viscosity curve, a gate freeze plot, or a cavity-balance check knows it: change one thing, wait, measure, decide, move on.

That sequence is also a story. Optimum Speed is shear heating and the melt that will not move until you find the sweet spot. Equal Pressure is four cavities that will not fill together until the runners do. Frozen Solid is the moment the part weight stops changing and you can finally trust hold time.

The lyrics are not a textbook. They are closer to what it feels like when the process is almost there — and then is.

The album was written and produced with Google Flow Music. The process content is ours. The 1980s jacket is Polly’s.

Tracklist

  1. Optimum Speed — viscosity / fill speed
  2. Equal Pressure — cavity balance
  3. Pressure Drop — nozzle, sprue, runner, gate, cavity
  4. Hold the Pressure — pack and hold
  5. Frozen Solid — gate freeze
  6. Seal the Gate — gate seal
  7. Clean Release — cooling and ejection
  8. Process Window — the window, not a single setpoint
  9. Hold the Line — repeatability once it actually runs

If you want the same sequence in prose, the process-development articles on this blog cover the studies without a chorus.

How to listen

Open the player on this site — no account, no playlist login — or the original playlist on Google Flow Music. Start at track one and let it run, or jump to the study you are about to do on Monday.

If you work in injection moulding and this is the first time a song has described your gate freeze study, that is the point.
